Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a project with TBP?+

Call or text (214) 214-3667 — that is 214-214-DOOR — or email info@tbp-usa.com. Consultations start with your plans or measurements and the look you are after.

What warranty do you offer?+

Yes — a published warranty covering glass defects (10 years), paint finish (10 years limited), structural steel (10 years), hardware (10 years limited), anodize finish (10 years) and workmanship (1 year). The full warranty page is on this website.

Where do you work?+

Dallas, Plano, Prosper and Northlake, from our base at 10460 Shady Trl, Dallas, TX.

What products do you specialize in?+

Four disciplines: Slider Solutions (large sliding systems), Custom Steel, Aluminum, and Wood Clad windows and doors. Most custom homes combine two or three of them.

Do you work with architects and builders?+

Yes — bring the plans or the window schedule. We specify systems per opening and quote itemized, so architects and builders can value-engineer with real numbers.

How long do custom systems take?+

Lead times depend on the system — custom steel and large sliders are made to order. We confirm realistic timelines in the quote and schedule installation around them.

How wide can a slider system be? (Slider Solutions)+

Very large. Multi-panel systems span openings measured in tens of feet when the structure allows. Send your plans or measurements and we will specify the maximum realistic system for the opening.

What is the difference between stacking and pocketing? (Slider Solutions)+

Stacking panels park at one or both ends; pocketing panels disappear into wall cavities. Pocketing needs wall depth planned in advance — easiest in new construction or major remodels.

Is steel energy efficient enough for Texas heat? (Custom Steel)+

With modern thermally-broken steel profiles and insulated glass, yes — steel is no longer the energy problem it was in 1930s originals. We specify thermal performance appropriate to Texas.

How durable is a steel door, really? (Custom Steel)+

The steel structure carries a 10-year warranty; paint finish is 10-year limited under the published terms. No other TBP line puts its durability in writing as strongly.

Aluminum or wood clad — which should I choose? (Aluminum Windows & Doors)+

Aluminum's slim profiles and spans suit modern architecture and big openings; wood clad brings interior warmth. Many Dallas projects use both — aluminum for the glass walls, wood clad for the bedrooms. We quote both honestly.

Is aluminum energy efficient? (Aluminum Windows & Doors)+

Yes — modern thermally-broken aluminum with low-E insulated glass performs to current energy codes comfortably. The aluminum of the 1970s is not the aluminum we install.

Which brand is your wood clad line? (Wood Clad Windows & Doors)+

Windsor is the wood clad line named on our wood clad page — a respected maker of wood and clad-wood windows. We review the current range and warranty with you at specification.

Does the wood need exterior painting? (Wood Clad Windows & Doors)+

Yes — the aluminum cladding takes the weather while the wood interior stays protected. It is precisely the construction for homeowners who want wood without wood maintenance.
